Uploaded Consciousness
Two weeks ago, we announced that Sentience was launching out of closed beta.
That launch marks the first milestone in our quest toward uploaded consciousness.
Your Sentience is your digital twin, not a generic AI assistant. It learns and understands you deeply. It makes decisions on your behalf using your own values and judgment.
Everything in your Sentience’s brain is private and owned entirely by you. This means nothing is shared, trained on, or accessible by anyone else.
Most AI companies take your data to sell or train other models. Models like Claude and ChatGPT risk flattening our cognitive biodiversity, which is a massive problem as AI becomes even more commonplace.
In a world of AI slop, your unique knowledge, memories, and identity matter more than ever. Your Sentience is built to protect and amplify them.
The Most Useful AI Is Your Digital Twin
Most AI only understands a fraction of your life. But the way you make decisions and get things done is shaped by years of knowledge, relationships, preferences, and experience. Meanwhile, the information that informs your decisions is scattered across a dozen tools: email, calendar, messages, Slack, Notion, and many more that you have to manually navigate.

Sentience starts from the opposite premise: one model that learns your work, relationships, and judgment, compounding its usefulness every day. It understands your priorities across your email, Slack, meetings, calendar, and much more. It knows how you communicate with customers, colleagues, and friends, prepares the work that needs your judgment, and helps your team move forward without always waiting on you.

And it's 100% yours. You decide what gets connected, you approve anything before it's sent to others, and nothing you give it is sold, shared, or used to train someone else’s model.

Sentience is now on the App Store!

You can carry your digital twin with you wherever you go. Ask questions and recall things across your life, prepare for conversations, and send messages in your voice, all from your phone.
The app is free to download on the App Store.
What’s New?
You can text your Sentience in iMessage! Receive proactive updates, review drafts, and approve messages without ever opening the desktop app.
Connect WhatsApp to bring your DMs and group chats into Sentience. They become auto-synced searchable memories that inform your chats, Library, personalization, and daily context.
Your Sentience automatically creates interactive artifacts, turning your conversations into searchable, shareable reports, plans, visualizations, and tools.
Your Sentience organizes the people, projects, and priorities in your life into persistent threads represented by icons that you can return to on the homepage.
Chat is faster and more natural, with conversational message bubbles, clearer citations, and reactions. You can also manage settings, save routines and preferences, and connect sources on iOS directly from chat.

And What’s Coming?
This launch kicks off a series of major releases over the next few weeks. Here’s some of what’s coming:
Your Sentience will use its own computer to execute tasks from start to finish and move your priorities forward.
It will answer questions on your behalf in the places your team already works, including Slack and WhatsApp.
You’ll be able to call and video chat with your Sentience and interact with a living version of yourself.
Eventually, your Sentience will join meetings and make calls in your voice.
Team Spotlight: Ahmet Ilten

Ahmet (left) and his Sentience
Ahmet joined Sentience in March 2026 after working at Terminal X and co-founding a game development studio with fellow Sentience engineer Aayush Singh. He works across the stack and has built some of the systems most fundamental to making Sentience personal, including its memory architecture, Sense of Self, onboarding, and the infrastructure that connects and enriches context from across your life.
Outside of work, Ahmet writes about technology and life, builds indie games, and occasionally cooks Turkish food for the team. He believes great engineering starts with the user, keeps systems understandable, and values what ships over how elegant the abstraction looks.
In Ahmet’s words: “90% of programming paradigms are things invented by programmers so they can feel better about themselves and their code, without tangible benefit or impact.”
He spends his time building the other 10%.
In Closing
Thank you so much to our beta users, supporters, investors, friends, and everyone who has helped shape and build Sentience so far. Our product and company are nothing without your trust, feedback, and patience.
We are committed to building the best possible product as fast as we can. We believe strongly that your digital self should understand you, work for you, and belong to you. In the future, our digital selves will interact as commonly as we do, at work and among friends.
The best possible AI is a digital twin of you.
